With everything going
on in our world today or in your own personal life, I’d like to admonish you -
BE STRONG & COURAGEOUS! We are never alone in this! I HAVE FELT A WEARINESS and I know others
have too. We can’t let our world or our “temporary” circumstances dictate
our joy and our strength! The Bible says the joy of the Lord is my
strength! In today’s world, as we make our way and journey to eternity,
God is with us every step of the way — a very present help in times of
trouble. We need to give it all over to God and commit ourselves to Him.
Did you know that God
has provided a way for us to be strong and confident as we journey through
these difficult times? He does not expect us to be passive and just
blindly accept all that comes our way. Sometimes we have to fight for our
healing or to possess our promised land. The Children of Israel had to
destroy the Canaanites before they could go in and possess the land.
Today the Canaanites are not so much a people, but demonic entities that try
and rob, steal and prevent us from having what God has intended us to
have. Whether that is good health, prosperity in our business, children
who serve the Lord, or whatnot.
First of all, what does God’s Word
say about our health? Take a look at this powerful verse:
3 Jn 1:2 Beloved, I wish above
all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul
prospereth.
This verse also talks about
prospering. What fantastic news! This is God’s desire for us, to prosper and be in health. So
what do we do when we’re not experiencing these things that the Bible says we
should be experiencing?
To begin, we need to know how to
pray right in order to discern the source of all that is happening to us.
Before we can claim our healing, for instance, we need to know that this is
God’s will and intent for us like 3 John 1:2 above says it is.
There are other verses, and nearly 300 in the KJV mention the word heal or a derivative of it. Here are some of my favorite ones:
Mal 4:2 But unto you that
fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;
and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare
our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Psa 107:20 He sent his word, and
healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Based on just these few these
verses, we can claim our healing. You may have heard some negative
comments about claiming your healing or claiming things in general. I’m
not talking about "name it and claim it," or telling God what to do, or being selfish or greedy or
covetous and “taking” what we think we deserve! Far from it!
Rather, we’re going to learn to receive what God has already handed to
us! Rather than let the devil make us think we don’t deserve it and that
ill health is our lot in life, we are going to turn the tables on Satan. Instead, we're going to tell Satan that he can’t steal what God has already given us, for this is all
a part of our heritage in being God’s child (as a Bible-believing Christian who
loves Jesus, and believes He died on the cross for us and rose again).
But if you don’t believe healing is for you, then the devil already has you
convinced!
I had a beloved Uncle Albert who,
when he prayed for your healing, really meant business. You were going to
get healed. He began by identifying the source of the sickness, as a
demonic spirit, bound it and cast it out, and then prayed the Word of God over
you, and thanked and praised God for the healing. Every time he prayed,
I’d see results. I had never thought to pray that way before. Each
prayer was respectful and very powerful, most of all though, brought
results. Isn’t results what we want to see, for ourselves, and for
others?
Let me reassure you that God rewards
boldness. He has made a way for us to come to Him without feeling shy or
afraid.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an
high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but
was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come
boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to
help in time of need.
He has given us the weapons to fight
Satan. You can read about the armour of God in Ephesians 6.
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren,
be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not
against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against
the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto
you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
Jesus has given us authority over
Satan. Here’s what He said:
Luk 10:18 And he said unto
them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto
you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the
enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
I believe that God expects us to use
that power.
Also, and this is crucial, we need to believe we
will receive what we have asked for. We need to focus on what He has
already accomplished for us on the cross, and receive that, not whether we deserve it or not. And we need to believe that our
prayers are being answered, and that the authority we have been given is taking
effect. Many times in the New Testament
Jesus mentions that a person was healed because of their faith.
We need
not come to God with a heart of unbelief. Clearly, unbelief will not get us any further towards our goal. It will delay, and it will cause the flow of God's blessings to us to cease.
I’d like to share an excellent example of what happens when we disbelieve.
Mat 17:14 And when they were
come to the multitude, there came to him [Jesus] a certain man, kneeling down to him, and
saying,
Mat 17:15 Lord, have mercy on
my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the
fire, and oft into the water.
Mat 17:16 And I brought him to
thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
Mat 17:17 Then Jesus answered
and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?
how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
Mat 17:18 And Jesus rebuked the
devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
Mat 17:19 Then came the
disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
Mat 17:20 And Jesus said unto
them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as
a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to
yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Mat 17:21 Howbeit this kind
goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Notice Jesus displeasure and rebuke at the disciples
unbelief. Yet He then gives them one of the most encouraging and astonishing Scriptures about faith there is in the Bible. All you need is a tiny mustard seed of faith to remove any mountain in your life.
So, these are some ways you can pray for your
healing, claim your healing, or whatever else you need prayer for. Do
it with faith and the authority that God has given you!
God Bless you as you continue this incredible walk of
faith. Watch for an e-book that will have all seven blogs in book form,
coming out soon!
